Hola de nuevo!
How are you all doing? Can I just tell you that I am so happy? God loves me so much. Its just not fair how much he loves me... hahah
This has been yet again an amazing week! Yesterday was the Baptism of Karen and it was Amazing! I think it was one of my favorite baptisms, just flawless and amazing. Nicolas was so nervous to baptize his new lovely wife. In the long run, she had to be baptized 3 times in icy cold water, pobrecita... but in the end she was just all smiles. The speakers at the baptism were both recent converts and they shared powerful testimonies about their own baptisms. Karen´s family (all nonmembers) were all there and afterward, Karen shared her beautiful testimony. In tears, she shared her testimony about how all her life she had so many questions and answers that just didn't fit together. She said it feels so good to have everything fit. That all of her unanswered questions have been answered. She told her family about how she had make lots of mistakes in her life and spent a lot of time making big mistakes, but she feels so clean and grateful that God loves her so much to give her a second chance. Now she has her eternal family and she couldn't be happier. She expressed one of the most powerful and simple testimonies that I have ever heard. After-wards, we talked with the family members and they told us they would like to hear our message and her mom asked for a Book of Mormon. Basically they are all just so prepared. It was amazing!
Speaking of being prepared, let me introduce you to Katuestka, the most prepared woman in the world!!! This week, a member called us and told us that his friend was ready to listen to themissionaries. We showed up to her house for the appointment, and Katuestka was there. She told us she had LOTS of questions. How she has been searching for the truth for her whole life. She has been baptized in the Pentecostal Evangelist church, but she was ready to be humble and see if the Mormons could answer her questions. Haha. I told her, "I promise we will answer each one of your questions by the time we have finished the first lesson about the Restoration." She just ate it all up! She loved it. Her eyes were wide and as she read the scriptures we showed her, it was as if a light bulb over her head clicked on. During the first vision of Joseph Smith, tears welled in her eyes and we all felt a powerful, penetrating spirit fill our hearts. She sat there for a moment and said "I have never felt this way before, it´s true isn't it..." After we shared the Book of Mormon with her and set a baptismal date with her, I asked her how she felt. Her answer almost made me laugh. She said " I feel guilty.I have spent almost my whole life hating the Mormons, fighting against your doctrine, contending with my friend about how wrong he was and he always just listened and smiled and said that when I was ready to listen to the missionaries, I should tell him. And this whole time, I have been wrong, you have that truth!" What a powerful testimony. This week, she has already read all of 1st Nephi and is well on her way to finishing 2nd Nephi. Let me just tell you, the church is true.
Also, Grandpa Sergio came to church this week! Wahoo! He is so excited for his baptism. He told us this week that he bought a life jacket so he doesn't drown! haha He is just a pleasure to be around.
Also, this last P-day, Hermana Mamani and I took a little tour around Valparaiso and found some treasures! We visited the cemetery where Parley Pratt first dedicated South America to Missionary work. His son, who died here in Chile is buried here. It is amazing. So many sacrifices made to bring about the Restoration of the Gospel.
Also, I am very dangerously falling in love with Chile, I don't think anyone is going to be able to get me to leave....
Its been an amazing week. Ceramics classes and Aerobics classes are just blowing up with success. The members here in this branch are blowing up with excitement in missionary work. I am blowing up with excitement too!! There is something in the air... I think its contagious...
OK I love you all so much! I hope you all just have an amazing week!
Also, If you can please include Juan Munoz in your prayers, it is a branch member who recently joined the church, he is in critical condition in the hopsital and the Doctors say he is sufferingalot.
