Subject: Conferencia General!! Wahoo
Hola querida familia!
Raise your hand if you absolutely LOVED conference this weekend?? I LOOOVED every minute of it! I love our prophet! I love his apostles. I love this church. It is impossible for me to sit and listen to the voice of our dear prophet and not feel completely sure that we are in the true church.. As a missionary , I feel a greater urgency to tell the world of about our living day prophet. If they can just hear his words, they will know for themselves that God has restored his church and his priesthood today and we are intailed to all of the blessing he has for us! Our Heaven Father has so many blessings for us! And the only way that we can really enjoy them is through faithfulness to his gospel and making and keeping sacred covenants with him. I loved all the talks on covenants. I loved to think about the blessings of the temple and of baptism. Though I don't remember much from my own baptism, I have the blessing and privilege to relive my baptism vicariously for all of the wonderful Chileans who have made the decision to be baptized. When is the last time you really sad down remembered the promises you made and the blessings you received at your own baptism? I invite you to do it and feel a renewed sense of commitment to them.
I also loved all of the talks about family! Even though I am a missionary, I so look forward to having my own family! I especially enjoyed Sister Dalton's talk about father and daughters. I felt so close to my future children. I set personal goals for my future family and am grateful for an amazing father who helps me recognize my own divine potential. (thanks dad!) I am grateful for the love that heavenly father has for his daughters. And though I have a very long time until I can have my own family, I am grateful for the opportunity to help families here in Chile build strong families on these building blocks. I know I talk about Carla and Pablo all the time, but its because I LOVE them with all my heart! I know that Pablo will be this kind of father for his children. Right now we are working very closely with two families , the Lopez family and the Garces family. I find great joy in thinking about how many blessings their family will receive!
Basically, I have my batteries all recharged up and ready to go for the last 9 months of my mission! Wahoo! So much to do, so little time. i think I might talk to President Gillespe about extending my mission another year... haha Or maybe i will just have to wait for my second mission... hahah What did you all like about conference? if you didn't watch it, you best go on-line tolds.org and repent hahah.
This week was a great week! Full of ups and downs. My poor companion Hermana Arcos took a hard fall on her bike this week. Scraped her face and knee pretty bad. Her helmet broke with the fall and basically saved her life. But yet again, I have seen the Priesthood power in action! her face as complete healed, in less than a week! She had a terrible scab on her face and black eye, and now she has literally nothing. Good as new! And she is a trooper, because we are back in action on the bikes! Also, more downs was that we lost Adolfo, the alcoholic as an investigator. He told us is too busy with work to keep meeting with us. I felt my heart break a little, but I know that he is come back one day! He is a miracle of my mission!
I am so happy to hear about life at home! Lisa goes to temple! Wahoo! I will be thinking and praying lots for you this week! Heather goes to Russia! Wahoo!! I am so happy for her. She is going to be a great missionary!! TWO TEMPLES IN PROVO! I might have let out a scream when I heard this!
I love you lots! I send mucho prayers your direction every day!
