Hola todos!
Let me just say, it was just lovely to see your beautiful faces yesterday when we got to Skype! I was just so happy and filled. I am so glad that you had a great Christmas, and for those of you who Ididn't see yesterday, I hope you had GREAT Christmas, full of family and joy, remember just how great is our Savior and our Loving Father in Heaven! The family who let us use thier computer were very entertained by trying to understand our conversation. haha Afterward, I watched Hermana Hart talk to her family and was a very sweet experience. It was like watching a musical, complete with singing and dance. haha I loved it. I just love FAMILY. that's really what it is all about, isn't it?
Hermana Hart and I had a lovely Christmas. Here in Chile, everyone celebrates Christmas at midnight and opens up all of their presents right at 12:00. So we had permission to be out with a family until 11:00 at night. We ended up going to the house of a part member family and we had just a great time! We felt like the Dad who isn't a member really felt the spirit of gospel and what it is all about. We then went to the pension at with flashlights, we read Luke 2 ( a great little missionary Christmas) and then we changed into cute little matching pajamas that Hermana Harts wonderful mom sent us. It was just a fun fun night. We set the goal to be "joy-spreaders" this Christmas, and I think we were able to accomplish our objective. We even were able to go Christmas caroling at the houses of inactive members! A memorable Christmas. And my hottest summertime Christmas yet!
And now.. we have a GREAT new year to look forward too. Time to set goals eh?? I hope you all take the time to set and meditate on Goals for this new year. Pray about them, then confirm them with our Heavenly Father, then kick your buns into gear and work for them and YOU WILL ACHIEVE THEM! Our gospel is a gospel of progression and goal making! Although sometimes wedon't meet the goal, we always come off better than we started! Though I still haven't decided on my 2012 goals, on the list is be a better journal writer, and have better church attendance among my investigators. What are some of your goals? I would love to hear about them!!
So now because I have extra time, I will tell you about some of our amazing investigators. I would to tell you about Fabiola. She is just golden. When I was in the trio a couple changes back, we started working with her and her husband. they were really interested in the gospel, but we had a very very bad experience with a member and the husband basically asked us not to come back and returned their Book of Mormon. We were devastated because we felt that they were so prepared. Well, with Hermana Hart, we just kept thinking about them, and last week we decided to pass by and see how they are doing. We walked up to the house and Fabiola let us in with a little hesitation.. She told us that 5 days ago, her dad had died. She was looking for answers. We left her with apamphlet of the Plan of Salvation. She accepted it and told us that she would call us if she wanted us to come back, which basically means that she isn't interested. Well we decided to come back a couple of days later and she had completely changed. She told us that she had questions about the plan of salvation. she had read it about 5 times and prayed to ask God if it was true. She said she asked her friends about it and they all thought it was crazy, but she told us "But I believe its true, it just makes sense and I feel peaceful with I think about it" She recognized the spirit!! She wasbasically begging to know more. She told us she believes its true and that the search for a church is over. I could hardly believe it, but I know that the gospel WORKS!!! it really is what everyone is looking for!
