Subject: BAUTISMO DE GUILLERMO
Howdy y'all!
Yet again you find me at the end of another happy and amazing week. Today was a crazy busy Pday. We had an activity as a district at the beach. We had BBQ ribs and watched The Other Side of Heaven. It was such a crazy feeling watching that movie as a missionary. I kept thinking... wait this is me! I really have seen so many miracles here in the mission, I think someone should make a movie about Mission Vina del Mar... haha
This week was the Baptism and Confirmation of Guillermo! Let me just say, it was one of the happiest days of my life. I think he is one of my favorite people ever. Last night we had a small testimony meeting with him and he has one of the strongest testimonies I have ever heard. He always refers to us as his angels and I feel so humble. Every time I think, "What did I do to deserve this? I am so imperfect, so in need to the grace of my savior Jesus Christ. But what I do know is that if we are willing, we can be tools in the Lord’s hands. I am so grateful that the Lord was able to use us as tools to bring the light of the gospel into the live of Guillermo. YOU CAN BE A TOOL IN HIS HANDS TOO!
This week I have learned a lot about faith. As a missionary, I have heard so many people saying, "Oh, I have so much faith...." But this has led me to think, if we have faith, what are we doing with it? I have come to learn that faith is a word of two principles. The first is ACTION. We need to be doing everything we can to nourish our faith so it can grow. We need to be reading the scriptures daily, at church every Sunday, serving those around us, and always acting on the whisperings of the spirit. As we are doing this, our faith will grow, but that is only half of the principle. Faith is also a principle of power. In the scriptures, it says, if we have faith, we can do whatever thing that is conviente to the Lord. I am learning that we really can do ANYTHING if we put of faith in the Lord and if we are able to overcome our doubts. In James 1:6 is says "Ask with faith, not doubting anything." This is the hard part. This is the part that takes mental strenth.can we really say we don’t doubt the things that we ask the Lord. I am still working on this, but I know it’s a true principle. Peter knew he could walk on water, until he doubted. Luckily our Lord is always by our side so that when we fall into doubt, and begin to sink, he extends his hand to us.
I love my savior. I am here for him; I obey his commandments because I love him. There is no easier way to find happiness than this.
I love you all! I hope you have a great week!
