Week 4

Hola Familia mia and amigos!
Big news... I have almost been in Chile for a month! I really really cannot believe it. It is a bizarre feeling to see how fast time flies by! I only have 2 more weeks till I will have finished my first change (changes are 6 weeks long) I will find out on the 26th if I will be staying or going... I really hope I stay because I absolutely love my area. My guess is that I will be staying but Hermana Jacobo will leave... haha but who knows. It really is a crazy feeling to think I am almost done with my first change.
Let's see, This week has been an overall good week. This morning, my zone took a trip to the Sand dunes next to the beach. It was a breath taking sight. Seriously the coast is so beautiful. I found out this week that there are only 4 sisters on the coast so I feel super lucky to be here. (side note, the mission has 180 elders and 20 sisters) hah crazy huh?
We had interchanges this week, where we switch places with other sisters for a day. It was a very interesting experience. I will just say that it made me love and appreciate my sweet companion Hermana Jacobo more. Haha I was in the interior Quillpue for the day and night. It was a cute little country town. also, the companion I had made me sing songs in the street with her and her voice was SO HIGH. Seriously, so so high. I kept laughing because I had never sung a song that high before and it sounded hilarious. I don't think she liked my sense of humor... haha
Let's see, what else, Oh I taught my first English class this week. haha it was TOUGH! I didn't really prepare too much because I thought it would be simple, and then I realized, even though I speak English fluently, teaching it in a different language is a different story haha But it went really well. We will have English classes every Tuesday night and members and investigators alike are super excited about it. I am also teaching Hermana Jacobo a little English. She is learning the song "I'm trying to be like Jesus¨ and it is so sweet when she sings it. Every time I here it, Its like I am learning a lesson in charity ¨love one another like Jesus loves you¨ Its such a beautiful message. AND to hear someone sing it with a rough accent is pretty special.
Also, funny story. Saturday night, a bought a little thing of super glue to fix my shoes (I trip a lot so the rubber is starting to separate) and I was sitting there, opening the tube of super glue- you know how it has that little protective seal that you have to break with the cap- anyways, I was opening it and all of a sudden, a ton of liquid sprayed out on my hands. The WHOLE contents of superglue, like the tube was completely empty! It must have been very old. So my first thought was, ¨what the heck, why did water shoot out?¨ My second thought was ¨Oh my gosh, that is superglue!¨ and my third thought was ¨oh my gosh, I am going to have to call the presidents wife and tell her I super glued my hands together!!!¨ haha luckily my companion helped me remove it with nail polish remover, but it was pretty funny to me.
This week was a good week for the work. We are teaching really awesome investigators, One has cancer and reminds me a lot of Grandma Jolley.- Her name is Gladys and she is hard headed, but also very willing to listen to our message. Also, someone named Rigoberto. He is very rare, haha And I can hardly understand him because he has a speech impediment, but for some reason, he LOVES talking to me and doesn't seem to mind that I cant understand him. We had our baptismal interview with Ronald and his two kids this week, it was SO exciting. But on Sunday they couldn't come to church so we had to move their baptisms to the 23rd. Kind of a bummer, but still great. I love this family so much. Everyone always said that Chile was having so many baptisms, but to be honest, the work is really slow in our area. Last change, before I got here, there were only 4 baptism in the entire zone. But we are all fasting and praying for the Lord to guide us to the people he has prepared!
Mom- Don't worry, I am getting your dear elders! Thank you so much! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are sending me Hermana Ellsworth's letters. It sounds like her experience is different and yet the same... haha I miss that girl so much. It is crazy how much I grew to love her. And it makes me so happy that her mom is sending her my letters too. A special shout out for when she reads this... ¨HERMANA ELLSWORTH: I miss you and love you lots!¨ haha I think about her a lot. And I think about you all too! I am grateful for your love and support and letters! I have the best family! I have been really surprised that I haven't felt homesick, it is a huge blessing from the Lord.
My LOVE and prayers to each of you individually!
