Happy Valentines day! Nothing more exciting that V-day at the MTC
Hola familia y amigos!
Como le va?? Big news from the MTC.... drum roll... IN ONE MONTH I WILL BE IN CHILE! crazy huh?? I leave on March 14Th and I can't believe how soon that will be! I love the MTC and will be sad to leave, but I can't wait to get to my peeps in Chile! I'm also excited to be around people I can actually share the gospel with! Also, there are no visas for Chile so I won't have to worry about being delayed! But I do still have to get those shots before I leave... bummer. But that's OK. So, there have been some big changes in the Zone in the last couple weeks. First, as of two weeks ago, my district is the oldest in the zone! That means everyone comes to us with questions etc. On Sunday I had to give a talk on baptism in Spanish because we were the oldest group! So crazy to me. But I love it. Also, my teachers have asked me to be a Spanish tutor in the zone. Haha I don,t feel qualified for the task, but it will be good because I will learn more when I am helping others learn. I feel like my Spanish has really taken off this week. I love speaking it and I feel like it has finally clicked. Good timing too because as of today, we aren't allowed to teach anymore lessons in English. Kind of scary but, also exciting because it's great practice! I feel so blessed to have taken Spanish in high school because I have a huge head start but I still have to work as hard as I can to warrant help from the Lord!
Also, I finished the Book of Mormon on Saturday, which means that I read the book in ONE month exactly. I can't get enough of that book! I have already started re-reading it. There is so much power in that book. I can't believe how much I took it for granted before, we shouldn't go a day without turning to the Book of Mormon and seeing what the Lord would have us learn for the day. Hermana Ellsworth and I have been reading the book in Spanish too. It's amazing how much extra help we get in Spanish just by reading it out loud. I challenge you all to read it at least once all the way though before I get home!
Speaking of challenges... how are the referrals coming? :) I hope I didn't sound to missionary-ish last week, but I really want all of you to take that challenge to heart. I know that the Lord prepares people to receive his gospel. For some reason it is so scary for us to step out of our comfort zones and share what we know to be true. For some reason, we feel it will be offensive or awkward or we are scared of rejection, but none of those feelings are from the Lord. God works through faith, not fear, so ask the Lord who he has prepared and he will direct you to his children! Anyway, I sound preachy again, I guess that is what one month in the MTC will do for you.
In other news, We have created a pretty fierce volleyball team here at the MTC. During gym time, it is so nice to play volleyball and de-stress after being in a class room all day. I am going to impress you all with my mad skills I have developed at the MTC haha. And I am proud to announce I lost 2 more pounds this week. haha I am slowly but surely fighting the weight gain steryo type. aha
Anyway, I am really struggling with providing an exciting email for you today. I am so so grateful for the letters and packages from you all this week! I am feeling the love onValentine's Day. sometimes I really miss not being able to talk to you all. I read your letters and wish I could just call you and tell you all how much I love you, and laugh with you at your funny stories and what not. But no matter how great my family and friends are, I feel so lucky to be on a mission. Its hard for me to believe that I am hear sometimes, but its also hard to imagine not being here! I am sorry for a short, scattered email. I guess it shows that 100% of my brain efforts are being channeled towards the work. I really love you all so much and I always pray for you! Keep up the good work and keep me updated on your lives :)
Mucho amor a todos,
Hermana Royal
